Altiyan Childs




Last night I was photographing at Westfield Shoppingtown Parramatta and was able to capture the excitement of their one night only sale. It was fun vibrant and the shops really got into the spirit of the event and offered their customers chockies and champers. They even had live mannequins which was a treat for the shoppers and they were VERY good! they were still and unfazed by people trying to distract them.

The crowning event was having recent Aria winner Altiyan Childs perform and meet his fans. It was great. This performer greeted, hugged and embraced each and every one of his fans. He was genuine and they all felt it. I found him to be gracious and kind.

Really nice to read an in-person account of seeing Altiyan being ... well, "Altiyan" with his fans and supporters :) What you see is truly what you get with this man, and thank you so much for sharing this interesting story and insight. x

I can testify that Altiyan is truly genuine. On an overnight trip from Darwin to Tasmania to see him in concert he stopped seeing all his fans briefly to comfort me because I thought I wouldn't get the chance to meet him since I had to leave early. Tell me how many famous celebrities would do that for their fans? :) xoxo

Altiyan, what you get is what you see, polite, humble, respectful with old fashioned values. The fans have come to know him and try and protect him but regretfully one of Sydneys largest daily papers and one of their most popular authors consistently try and tarnish his credability with ongoing sensationalsm and lies. Even when Atltiyan won the biggest award of the night at the Arias, the media still didn't air it, the paper in question still had to smear his win, shocking behaviour for one of our most talented and loved Australian artists.

Agree with all that is said above - you couldn't meet a nicer person and when he greets you he treats you like a friend and not just a fan. This is one artist who truly does appreciate his fans and even manages to love and forgive his enemies as well!

Please let me say what an honour it has been to read all of your kind comments and remarks. I have commented to a couple of people on Facebook that the one thing about Altiyan that stood out to me was, that he made everyone feel that he had waited all day just to be with them. What a true talent and man. I have met and mingled with a great many celebrities but this man stands very differently, i am honoured to have been one of those he embraced and made feel very welcome.

And thanks to all of you special people as well.

Oh that's so nice when someone else's sees what we, his fans have been experiencing for a year now! We can be very protective of Altiyan & it sometimes gets misunderstood as obsession? Now U know why we feel that way, it's not obsession its a desire to protect someone that is truly rare & honourable & talented too! Thank u Craig soo much for your wonderful unbiased comments & thankyou for being a true gentleman & not judging before hand!! Well done to a bright light in what seems an otherwise dark & treacherous industry!

Wow Craig how nice to see someone unbiased see what we have been experiencing for a year now! We are very protective of Altiyan because we see someone rare with talent & compassion & this unbelievable humble nature that is completely genuine! We are sometimes mistaken as obsessed fans? It's not obsession, just a real desire to protect someone truly unique & special! U have to meet him to understand that! I would rally anywhere for this man if I thought he needed us we would be there in an instant as his army because he really cares & has this amazing ability to make you feel like he is just there performing for you but yet at the same time making EVERYONE in the room feel like that! I unexpectedly asked him to sign my shoulder after one of 5 concerts I have been too & then the next day got his lovely message tattooed so it's there forever! Not out of hysterier but i simply wanted to br reminded everyday that for a few seconds i felt special & worth something to this person! This is how I feel about

Craig I remember you taking photos elsewhere and being positive in your reaction to Altiyan, I just can't remmeber when that was. Thankyou. Thankyou for giving Altiyan a chance, and consequently being rewarded. :) You can see what we see in Altiyan, especially after you meet him. I hope you get the opportunity to again photograph/meet him.
