Ice cream castles in the air...
I was on TVSN the Home Shopping channel last night on Foxtel / Austar with the lovely Moira. It was an interesting show for me in some 8 years on TVSN for Samsung cameras, Kodak cameras and now Nikon it is the first time it would seem where the producers and management actually googled me and saw my website and blogs. They said they had no idea I did the things I do and featured a couple of minutes on this blog showing some of the pictures which was kind of weird.
The reason I raise this is, I dont tell them much about what I do, all they see me as is a person who loves photography....and I do.
I recently saw a good friend and was surprised when they said that they believed I loved the attention, love the public adulation of being noticed or identified and after saying honestly that I didnt I was called a liar. I guess that was in jest, but I said and believed that they dont know me at all. Make no mistake I do want some kind of acknowledgement for what I do which is why I am surprised, disappointed and often saddened when I do things for people and barely get a thank you at best, often times I dont get even that.
I do not get paid for my TV appearances I do late at night and in my own time as well. I do it because I am passionate about imaging and about the product, I think at some level it gives me a profile which I hope will at least open some doors for me, though I receive no benefit from it presently, other than getting to meet and work with some very kind and amazing people.
I sometimes just dont understand the things people say or do. The difficulty with me is that I am an open book for the most part and believe and treat people the same way but often have no concept of the things going on in their lives. I also am reminded that because I am open, and I believe, honest with my thoughts and feelings, not everyone else is.
I am here again.....I really don't know clouds, love or life at all - I love it, I live it, but don't always understand it.
