Panasonic Neo 3D TV

Earlier this evening I was invited to go to a launch of the new Panasonic Plasma Neo 3D TV, and the best 2D TV I have ever seen for that matter as well, and I was blown away with the level of quality, the richness and vibrancy of the colour and overall style.

I have been looking at purchasing this new style of television over the last few weeks and I really have become so very impressed with the advancements and clarity of these screens. I was particularly impressed with the screen quality from the Panasonic Neo's. The 3D images and Hi-Def quality made a coral reef look like an actual visit over the great Barrier Reef, and the Grand Canyon look like I was in fact right there. It was much better than looking through a glass bottom boat!

I have looked at and tried the new Samsung range of 3D Tv's and found that my eyes were a little strained after a while and found the results of the plasma much more "pleasant" and less straining on the eyes in comparison.

The glasses which come with the Samsung are rechargeable with a USB style of recharger and they last about 3 hours when fully charged. The down side is that if you forget to charge the glasses, you will not have a full experience when you really need them, and knowing that I can often forget to charge things, my phone for one, could prove a mistake and even a downright frustration.

The Panasonic on the other hand is a much better option using the 2032 round flat batteries and giving you around 100 hours use for about $4. The glasses are quite well designed, and can even be placed over other pairs of glasses if you are a person that wears glasses normally.

The Neo fast Panasonic Plasma 3D has a 600HZ high quality screen and apart from all of the other techno innovations, what it simply means is that picture quality is exceptional and occurs at a rate so quick it gives an even smooth rate on screen you see no flicker at all. I saw the TV in Melbourne at PMA a week or two ago, but this was the first time I actually had the chance to sit and watch in as close an environment to my home as possible, and I loved it. No actually I REALLY LOVED it.

The 50" will launch here in Australia for around $3400 and come with one pair of glasses, which is an immediate down side for households of more than 1 person. Additional pairs can be obtained however for a retail price of $199. An additional option camera can turn the TV into a twitter device and a host of other applications which are all designed to turn the TV into a much bigger experience. The word convergence is a word that has been bandied about with reckless abandon in recent times, but this TV really does make the world a little bit smaller in your own lounge room for a VERY reasonable cost.

We had the chance to meet a film maker and the product marketing manager, some techno gurus and sales people who clearly love being associated with a company that creates this level of quality.

I think I have made my decision, the only question I have to think of now is whether I want a 50", a 54" or 58" or the 65".

Perhaps the 65" will be wishful thinking at the moment and it is not due for availability here in Australia until September, BUT the 50" should ship next week here in OZ, so for a person who was somewhat suspicious of plasmas previously, with running hot, and being less energy efficient, I commend you to go and check out a television that ticks ALL of the right boxes and has the best viewing angles and is the perfect start to a true cinematic experience.
