Fifa World Cup - C'mon Aussies!
I watched in the early hours of the morning last week Australia's disappointing performance in the Fifa world cup against Germany. I was not condemnatory of the Socceroo's in anyway losing 4 nil, it was clear that they were outgunned and out performed in a world arena game against a team that has had soccer imbued within them for generations. That said, I am very hopeful that they can get up and do themselves proud. I am already proud for them to have reached that level in the first place, it is not easy, and Australia is but a very small part of a world contest that truly is the WORLD series. They play Ghana tonight and the Ghanaians are already saying things like "the Socceroos will be massacred" and whilst that possibility certainly exists, I am quietly hopeful that the Socceroos come from nowhere and kick some butt in their game. I love an underdog, and if ever there was one, the Socceroos are it, so I cross my fingers and say my prayers that they will be able to do themselves well. Go the Socceroos.
I have loved the coverage of the games and I am determined NEVER to buy a Vuvuzela, those droning, bee like , deafening sound makers that come out of those cornet type instruments, but I would love to be in one of those arenas to feel that vibe just once. I just love the official song of the FiFA World Cup, and include it here for you from Shakira. It is amazing to me that music has so much ability to unite and get you moving, and whilst part of me thought that the latin Shakira in an African setting / beat would be unusual, it is an intoxicating beat, sound and clip. Is she looking hot or what? Not that I actually said that out loud right! I will also include my favourite soccer theme song from Ricky Martin.

Australia did not win, they had a 1 all draw. Which was great. They did themselves very proud, and in Sydney last night the Australian Rugby union team the Wallabies were playing against England and in a nightmare that recurred again, Wilkinson was instrumental in winning the game for England by 1 point....AGAIN!!! Who said lightning doesnt strike twice!~!
