Depth on a Sunday evening.
I can't fully tell you the wonder and depth I feel of late, playing with the cameras and different lenses, all to try to look at my world in a different way trying to see the beauty in otherwise everyday things.
Make no mistake I certainly love the vibe from being around creative people, I love the wonder and interest that I find in so many faces I meet, but there is something about nature that stills within my soul and whispers something more to me that helps place into perspective the fact that I am nothing. It is bigger than what I drive, bigger than where I live or how much I do or do not have in the bank or even how many worries I have before me. For me, nature is wonder, it is activity it is ordered and grand.
I sometimes lie on the grass and look upward to the sky or stand on a mountain or hill and realise that whatever I sometimes may or may not feel about my place, my importance or even my self worth, it is, and I am, transitory.
The nature I walk through, the grass between my toes, the rain that falls on my face on the rare and special occasion I am standing without an umbrella, it is even the ugly creepy crawlies, the bities and whatever else. I am so very grateful for life, and for the chance I have to try and keep it in perpetuity with the things I see and photograph.
