Some beautiful sentiments

These were emailed to me and were too special not to include here.

...And a special Thank you to Tammy for the text of the full poem. She emailed it to me and I am including it here.

ANYWAY

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it is never between you and them anyway.

These snippets are about half of a poem that Mother Teresa hung on a wall of the orphanage she founded in Calcutta.

I can send you the poem in its entirety if you'd like.

I love the poem. It hangs directly above my computer. :)

Thanks for sharing these Craig. Sorry I have been unable to blog and update comments as often as I would like. Your friendship is appreciated, particularly for it's incredible perspective, genuine passion for all that you do and what a choice friend you truly are.

Great post, Craig, and a double-whammy thanks to Tammy (of course!). This post is very similar to some that my friend Beth sends me, btw. (Good stuff ... REALLY good stuff!) One of the things that jumped out at me from this one was what went with that last photo, which included the admonition, "It was never between you and them, anyway." Reminded me very much of #29 in a post I shared with everyone on June 22nd, which said, "What other people think of you is none of your business."
