The Australian Monsters of Rock 3 - Rose Tattoo

One of the Star groups of this show was Rose Tattoo which has been synonymous with the working class, real bruising Aussie rock in this country for many years. This band has certainly scaled the dizzying heights in music this country can offer and like the Angels, still remains. They are a great band. They can even look a tad intimidating at times, but the true test of their longevity is that they continued to get people jumping and their songs are still so very relevant. They tap into the consciousness of the local psyche and deliver a show that is nothing short of dazzling. I have a great deal of respect for the band, who inspite of their age, still deliver a show that is real and I love seeing them have a lot of fun.

I also have a lot of respect and admiration for Angry Anderson, the lead singer. He has certainly not come from a silver spooned life of privilege, but is an ordinary man with real everyday challenges who never gives up. Those singular traits help make him the quintessential Aussie bloke of this generation. He was honoured recently on Televisions "This is your life" and True Stories on channel 7 and it highlighted a passionate Australian who is proud of who he is, what he has accomplished and where he is in life, and I am honoured to have met him and taken these images. I have included a couple of You Tube clips at the end, so that for those people who are looking at my blog from overseas, get to see a rounded view of this man whom I know people have written off a few times, but who has really earned his place in this country, and in a collective consciousness and respect that he receives.

It is a bloody good thing to have featured Angry Anderson. He is a real good man, a salt of the earth guy. It certainly makes me appreciate him & his music a whole lot more. Onya Angry!

That was really interesting, Craig. I viewed all of the YouTube segments. Thought they were well done. I got a kick of hearing Angry's devilish laugh after he finished singing that last song! :)
