Update on the floods

I have been polarised by the footage from everyday people concerning the floods that have been going on in the state of Queensland. the toll is 12 deceased, 62 missing and 12 feared dead. We have all been told via the news stations that the death toll will rise, and this has been listed as the biggest event in the Queensland state history with 75% of the state underwater. My heart goes out to people who have lost all of their lives belongings.

The upside of all of this I believe is still, the amazing spirit of goodwill and the desire that exists in the hearts of everyday people to get in and help people they dont know. THAT is the silver lining I find truly divine.

There are reports that people have been caught looting and yet whilst I shake my head in disbelief, the stories of the good so far outweighs the bad it is still leaving a sense of gratitude that in times of hardship, it can bring out the best in humanity.
