Jrisi

I thought I would post a couple of pictures I took yesterday of Jrisi Baker (nee Jusakos), an accomplished dancer and certified instructor. I was asked to shoot some pictures of her for a DVD she is releasing soon, showing the art of Belly Dancing. As I understand, the DVD will be an instructional DVD which she will be selling world wide. She is certainly very good at what she does. It was shot in a wonderful egyptian themed Restaurant on Sydney's South. Her Husband was the second camera operator and will be the editor of the DVD project and these are just two images from the three hundred I shot that I particularly liked. I loved the second one which utilised a range of different elements that harmoniously combined to get this shot.

I am quite pleased with the result. I love imaging and working with different people and elements. It is a beautiful thing to be a part of a creative process. Something that all photographers, artists and creative people generally feel and understand. I am very gifted and blessed to be an active part of a process and community that seek to find the best within their subjects and indeed within themselves. The camera lenses are my windows to the world. The world I see is beautiful, sometimes stark and arresting, but beautiful.

This is right up my alley.

My family is Jordanian and my sisters can belly dance so well....I, on the other hand, got cheated with the dancing gene. haha. So not fair!

I love these! Beautiful work.
