Happy Birthday Queenie!

Today is the Queens birthday, well not really, but Australia has chosen this day to celebrate it, and I embrace any opportunity to celebrate a public holiday. So in that spirit I raise my glass and wish the Queen a generous salutation.

This morning I went out with the family to the best cemetery in the world with the absolute best view, overlooking the ocean in Waverley. The few remaining spots that are empty are worth millions I have been led to believe. It is the most sought after address it would seem. Go figure! It has the earthly remains of some very notable people. The residents include Dorothea Mackellar - Poet (famous for "I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains..." among many other fine poems). Other notable residents include some of Australia's most famous business empire creators, Sargeants pies, Alberts music and others including some of the very first actors and vaudevillian stars.

Then I took some sunrise shots, we then went and had a wonderful cooked breakfast at Macca's that even had a car parking meter! Obviously there are people who park and take off, but really, I had to photograph this! The proceeds got to a great cause, but I suspect if you get fined the proceeds will not go to Ronald McDonald house judging by the many notices everywhere about avoiding tickets. The last shot is of a derelict city building, and a rainbow I shot yesterday afternoon.

Now I am back home and back into the computer photo work that beckons.

Enjoy the images....
