Labels and signs

I saw this man the other day in the city and in so doing caused me to think much about the sighting. I have long felt we never really know people, each other, and in some instances even ourselves and a label would be handy and quite interesting at times. Imagine if we all had to wear labels around our neck such as this man,  would they be as this man's suggests just our occupation, or could there be character traits thrown in as well.

I have felt similarly at airports when chauffeurs with ipad signs announcing the name(s) of their assigned quarries in anticipation of them disembarking and how important labels and signs can sometimes , no let me rephrase, ALL the time how important they can be (thinking of street signs etc).

This man sat in Sydney's Pitt Street Mall rather proudly, smiling at me as I took the picture. I saw no plate as such for me to contribute any coins to his cause and over the course of an hour I saw him change seating positions several times, thus trying to introduce his "wares" to a new audience but appreciated that I saw him nonetheless. He seemed somewhat invisible to the humanity that passed him by. I try to notice people, things in my life that could easily be missed. On such occasions, I regretfully don't always have the time to take a picture to remind me of the moments and feelings later and therefore much of my life can become somewhat of a blur at times. Sadly.
