Everest like you have not seen it previously
Picture this:
Mount Everest, captured in astounding interactive digital detail. We're not talking megapixels, we're talking *giga*pixels -- as in two to three *billion* pixels. An image so detailed you can zoom in on individuals standing around at basecamp from miles away.
The image is actually the product of more than 400 individual photos, each
taken with a 300mm lens then stitched together, David Breashears the photographer and team founder took these images.
The link is below so you can look at this yourself in much more grander detail, but I have made a composite image to show you the size of a man at South base camp, which is itself already very high from sea level at an altitude of 5,364 metres (17,598 ft) (28°0′26″N 86°51′34″E) and then comparing it to the size of Everest. WOW
I am in awe of the size of Everest and how insignificant we can seem sometimes when compared with nature in her majesty. I am also in awe of the scale of the task and the painstaking time and effort to create such an image. I take my proverbial hat off to David and his team, what a wonderful creation. I hope you Enjoy.
