This one's for you
Tammy a blogger friend of mine was given an award for an interesting and brilliant blog site and was instructed to tell people as a "Pass it Forward" line to pass it on to some others she thought highly of and instruct them to say 10 things about themselves that people may not know about me, so here goes.
1. As a young kid and teenager in school I ALWAYS pushed the envelope, and occasionally still do. I tried always to see how far I could go, and often times with painful consequences. I got the cane often. A thin stick of bamboo about 1.5 feet in length over the finger tips which would cause them to blister and go purple. I was a very, very difficult child, I resisted authority that would tell me how I had to be, I still do. I would always look for a fight just to throw off the scent of discerning people that I was largely unhappy as a kid. I fooled many into believing I was a terrible person and found a "power" that came to me as a result.
2. I hated that the good looking girls in high school always thought of me like a brother. There was one girl at high school I liked who would tell me all about her boyfriend hassles and one day I said to her, I don't want to hear the problem, I want to BE the problem. Her response? "You are so sweet, you are such a nice guy!" ......D'oh!
3. I hate not being financially successful enough to choose my destiny more. I am certainly chipping away at it more than I ever have, I have sad memories of not having much as a child, and that is an incredible motivator to get up and try again, day after day. I will get there though. (make no mistake, I am grateful for the struggle - it has sure helped me to define what I want, but I have hated the feelings and accompanying sadness and arguments that money or lack of it can cause)
4. I have a bucket list - long before it became a book or film. One of the items on it is to have dinner with Neil Armstrong.
5. I love nature. I love the times I have because I make them, when i can sit by a lake or stream, hear frogs or birds, or see the sun rise or set, or even when I watch the storm or rain. I also love animals.
6. I love it when my work is appreciated. Despite the lame comment from a "friend" who said that perhaps I need the approval of others to vailidate my worth, I totally reject this hollow view. He and others like him do not understand me at all.
7. I am fascinated by people and their behaviours. I am student of observation.
8. I am grateful. I believe that ingratitude is a sin. I have become very aware that my life is the recipient of so many influences of environment, tenacity and serendipity but most often the benefactor of great blessings from people.
9. I believe that there is a God who loves me inspite of myself.
10. I am a dreamer. I dream in perfect detail, I make pictures in my mind, I see the destination and my arrival. I try to make myself a road map so that I will recognise the destination when I get there. When I am asleep, I also dream...in colour! I often remember them when I awake aswell.
